A worn-out machine, soon after water treatment went inAn RO system or a well letting pressure sag; Sub-Zero suggests a pressure booster there.

When the complaint is small or thin cubes from an undercounter machine, what we usually find is a spray running short of water, fed by a supply that cannot hold its pressure, often after an RO system or on a well. Less often the spray area is fouled because the clean cycle keeps being skipped. Sub-Zero Repair Bothell proves the supply first, (206) 202-2799.

Ice machine water spray, in one line
The water an undercounter ice machine sprays behind its curtain while a batch freezes, fed straight from the house supply. Sub-Zero Repair Bothell reads a weak spray as a water question first.

What the spray gives away

The spray is the machine’s water on its way to freezing, so it is where a supply problem shows first. A healthy supply ignores a cup of water poured behind the curtain; a spray that shifts is running on marginal pressure.

Where the pressure goes missing

The installation guide wants that pressure constant, not merely enough while the rest of the house is quiet. RO units and wells are where it usually sags; a booster there is a plumber’s job, not ours. A fouled spray area looks much the same.

A good supply and a weak spray

Then the fault sits inside the machine, between the water inlet and the spray. No price band covers it; it is quoted after the $89 diagnosis.

Service call, including the diagnosis $89

$89 gets a technician to the unit and pays for finding the fault; agree to the repair and that $89 is taken back off its price.

Questions about the ice machine water spray

What water pressure does a Sub-Zero undercounter ice machine need?
The UC-15I installation guide asks for a constant 20 to 80 psi at all times, reverse osmosis setups included. Sub-Zero leaves measuring the house pressure to a plumber. If the cup test changes the spray, Sub-Zero Repair Bothell on (206) 202-2799 can rule out the machine side before you book one.
How do I run the clean cycle on a UC-15I?
Press CLEAN and wait about three minutes for its light to flash, then pour one tablespoon of Sub-Zero's own ice machine sanitiser into the spray area. The machine sanitises for ten minutes and rinses eight times, roughly half an hour in all, and the light goes out when it has finished.
