Water Under the Unit: Which Price Band Is It?

Parts and labour, as a range: the part your model takes and the work to reach it settle where inside it the job falls, and you get that one figure before anything is done. $89 gets a technician to the unit and pays for finding the fault; agree to the repair and that $89 is taken back off its price.
When there is a puddle in front of a Sub-Zero, what we usually find is water that escaped from the ice and water path, a fitting, the inlet valve or an overflowing fill cup, and less often melt water that missed its drain. Read the puddle before you call
Where it sits and when it appears narrow the search. Water only after the ice maker has run points to the fill. Water with ice in it near the freezer points the same way. Water at the back, whether or not the ice maker is on, points to the line. One test from Sub-Zero’s own advice is worth doing: with the ice maker switched off, take the bin out and see whether water keeps coming.
Two kinds of job
The line, the inlet valve, the fill tube and the dispenser valve all sit in the ice and water band printed above. Melt water that misses its way out, through the defrost drain or the pan it empties into, is a different kind of job, and it is quoted after the diagnosis rather than guessed at.
First moves
Switch the ice maker off, close the shutoff that feeds the unit, and lay towels down. A Sub-Zero has no shutoff of its own, so if the feed valve cannot be reached, the house main is the one to close.

Paired columns here, and only the refrigerator half was struggling. Phone answered at seven, van in the driveway by eleven. Blocked air path plus a tired fan on that circuit. I watched the cabinet come down.
